Kansas Department of Corrections Supervisor Olufela Adebiyi, age 59, a 20-year veteran correctional officer at the Lansing Correctional
Facility was assigned to supervise offenders who had tested positive for COVID-19. On April 22, 2020, Officer Adebiyi tested positive for COVID-19 and was later hospitalized. After a three week battle with medical complications, Officer Adebiyi succumbed to the COVID
virus on May 12, 2020. Officer Adebiyi is survived by his wife and five children.
