Kansas Department of Corrections Supervisor George Robare, age 61, a 36-year veteran correctional officer at the Lansing Correctional Facility was assigned to supervise offenders who had tested positive for COVID-19. On April 24, 2020, Officer Robare tested positive for
COVID-19 and shortly thereafter was hospitalized. After a three week battle with medical complications, Officer Robare succumbed to the
COVID virus on May 11, 2020. Officer Robare is survived by his wife and daughter.
